Our History

The Kruepke family's history in the trucking industry dates back to the 1940s. Howard and Annette Kruepke purchased their first truck in 1946 and contracted with the local cannery to transport vegetables from the farm field to the processing plant. Over the next several years they added additional trucks and hauled for several canneries.

Libby's - 1950s

In the early 1950s, in an effort to diversify and to find more year-round work, the Kruepke family purchased a farm milk pickup route. This working relationship with Golden Guernsey Dairy continues today.

Dump Truck - 1960s The decade of the 1960s brought more changes for the Kruepke's. These included the purchase of their first semi-tractor and trailers, the forming of a rental division to lease units to Libby's (a nationwide supplier of canned goods), the purchase of the first dump truck to haul for several local gravel pits, and the construction in 1965 of the first phase of what is today's office and maintenance facility.

The 1970s brought even more changes. In 1972 the Kruepke's got started in the long haul business with the purchase of a small Interstate Carrier with a fleet of 10 semis and a customer base of 2. In 1975 the over the road division was renamed Kruepke Trucking, Inc. The instate hauling as well as the milk and dump hauling was established as a separate division and named Kruepke Transit, Inc.

The decade of the 1980s was a period of transition. With the acquisition of General Commodities Authority, the over the road operations continued to grow. At the same time, the local canning work was shrinking as a result of changing demographics in the area. In 1983, Kruepke Enterprises was formed as a holding company of Kruepke Trucking, Transit, and Rentals.

1970s Model Trailer Kruepke Trucking currently operates a fleet of over 50 late model tractors and over 100 dry van trailers. From our home base in Jackson, WI, we service our customers' needs over a 26 state area. Our diverse customer base means that we haul a variety of items from carpet and bathroom fixtures to printed material and non-perishable foods.

Kruepke Transit consists of a fleet of dump trucks used for aggregate transportation. Continuing our relationship with Golden Guernsey (now a division of Foremost Farms USA), it also is home to a fleet of milk trucks that take care of farm pickup and transport work.

As we progress into the new millenium, we realize there will be many challenges and rewarding times for the trucking industry. We here at Kruepke Enterprises will continue to make the needed adjustments to be a driving force in the industry so that we remain around for the long haul!
